Office of Police Complaints Releases FY22 Mid-Year Report

Report highlights the agency’s FY22 mid-year performance

(Washington, DC) – The Office of Police Complaints (OPC) and its governing body, the Police Complaints Board (PCB) today released its Fiscal Year 2022 Mid-Year Report. This report includes data on complaints investigated by OPC in the first half of FY22.

From October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022, OPC received 344 complaints and investigated 246 total complaints reflecting a 9% decrease from FY21. Additionally, 76% of OPC cases had body-worn camera footage and 29% of those cases had BWC non-compliance.

OPC also published one policy recommendation in the first half of FY22 to help update and improve the Metropolitan Police Department’s (MPD) policies and procedures. This report reviewed and examined the status of policy reports and recommendations made by OPC in FY20 to MPD.
