Agency tasked with selection of independent consultant

(Washington, DC)  – The Office of Police Complaints (OPC) is encouraging qualified applicants to submit proposals for an Independent Expert Consultant.  All applications must be received by 12 p.m. on September 5, 2014.

The position, created by the Sexual Assault Victims’ Rights Amendment Act of 2014 (SAVRAA), is tasked with assessing and providing recommendations for improvement to the Metropolitan Police Department’s handling of sexual assault cases.  The consultant will be selected by OPC and subject to final approval by the Office of Victim Services (OVS).

“We encourage all qualified individuals to apply for this important position,” said Christian J. Klossner, OPC’s acting executive director.  “A robust application pool will ensure the District is able to hire the most qualified person.”
